This is one of my favorite images I took in the series because it captures the essence of a student. I am a student myself and I always find myself in situations where I have to find a makeshift desk to fill out papers. This individual used his skateboard as that medium. The focus is on his shirt because to me, a student is about being free and not worrying about a uniform or proper attire to wear to your “occupation.” But I also like his hand spot because it shows that he is thinking, which further captures the characteristics of a student.
This image is of an individual working an office job who is consumed by technology and the requirements of technology. As you can see, i capture her eyes gazing at a screen. Yet, just like the Garbage image, the focus is on the two computers.
The next three images are from a project I completed about portraits. I wanted to put a spin on portraits on not take standard images of individuals, rather, I want to see these individuals within the realm of occupations and really see how consumed they are with their jobs.
My idea was to take candid photos of three types of jobs and see the reaction of who they are, what they are doing and try to understand why they are doing this. Also, the focus of each image is on the object to which my subjects where consumed in.
This first image is of a garbage truck driver who was doing his routine job of picking up the trash. Yet, his facial expression is great in that it shows his identity from his job. The focus of this image is the truck because it is the mode through which my subject is doing his job.
This was from the same Depth of Field project but my idea was to try and have more depth of field to where the entire image is more in focus.
This was a random balloon I saw in a field and I felt it had a great meaning.
This was from a project I had dealing with Depth of Field and the ability to use higher aperture to only focus on one portion of the picture (the blue shirt).
so I haven’t uploaded many pictures in a while onto my Tumblr. I’ve been extremely busy with applications and schools but I will try and post at least a picture a week from here on out.
